Rusli Zainal Sang Visioner - The National Police announced Wednesday that DNA tests conducted on the families of Nur Said and Ibrahim revealed that the two suspects were not the perpetrators of the bomb attacks on JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels that took place Friday.
Spokesman for the police Insp. Gen. Nanan Sukarna told a media conference the DNA codes of the families of Nur Said and Ibrahim did not match those of two heads found at the crime sites.
Nanan said the police only identified the suicide bombers as youths aged between 16 and 17 years old. One of them was around 165 cm tall, while the other between 180 cm and 190 cm. The police also released sketches of their faces and called on those who might be familiar with the faces to report to the police.
Nur Hasbi of Temanggung in Central Java is an alumnus of Ngruki Islamic boarding school and classmate of Asmar Latin Sani, the perpetrator of the 2003 JW Marriott suicide bombing. Ibrahim of Kuningan in West Java is a florist who worked at the hotel.
The whereabouts of Nur Hasbi and Ibrahim remain as yet unknown.
